Euler Visual Synthesizer Promotional Music (2024)

Composer / Producer

After leaving my job at Minerva Networks in the summer of 2023, I decided to explore a vector graphics visualization synthesizer based on common audio synthesizer workflow - and developed an application called Euler Visual Synthesizer. It has been released on the Apple App Store and is available for macOS, iOS, and Apple TV.

With the need to develop some promotional videos, I spent a couple weeks in the studio producing a theme and variations set of songs I could use in the production of promotional videos.

Alexander Turpin: NC School of the Arts Senior Design Project

Alexander recorded audio using my ZOOM H5 field recorder of various activities around his school. I then processed these audio files into formats used by various modules in my Eurorack modular rig and we recorded approximately 8 hours of us experimenting with sounds in my modular rig. I was then able to demonstrate to Alexander how to chop up the recording and mix in Logic Pro. Alexander created the final mix.

Tutor, mentor and producer for a 1 hour long alien soundscape musical piece used as companion audio for interactive sculpture piece.

Shortly after release, we followed up with an EP / Remix album, Bitter from the Start, which was produced by myself and guitarist, Greg Tuohey, using freshly recorded acoustic guitar and various stems from the debut album processed using various methods in Apple Logic Pro. We performed as a 5 piece band throughout New York City at various esteemed venues throughout the LES, East Village, and Midtown Manhattan.

Carynoke (San Francisco, CA 2001-2002)

Electro-Lounge studio and live act

Carynoke was born during a night out with friends at a Karaoke Bar - after discovering that one of my good friends, Caryn Kealey had an amazing voice.

We put together a small set of electro-lounge cover songs recorded in my home studio over the course of several months.

We were also a featured band at the Chillits Music Festival in Mendocino County, CA.

XBAND Online Gaming Service (Cupertino, CA: 1994-1995)

Video Game Composer / Sound Effects Developer

I was Invited to join the Catapult development team as music and sound effects composer for the acclaimed / cult classic XBAND video game modem for the Sega Genesis and SNES video game platforms.

I created all sound effects for entire XBAND UI experience as well as composer of included 5 songs for the Genesis version and 6 songs for the SNES version - all completed under a breathtaking release schedule (we were crazy back then).

The documentary linked below is linked at a timecode where I get my shoutout - but the entire documentary is worth a watch.
