It’s a synthesizer. It has Banks, Presets, Oscillators, LFOs, modulation sources, knobs (lots of knobs), a mixer, and effects. Except it doesn’t create sound. It creates geometry.

It specializes in periodic waveform manipulation, but also dabbles in some non-linear possibilities as well.

Of course if that is a little intimidating, there is a performance mode where you simply smash buttons on the keyboard to cycle through the presets, and drag your mouse around a gigantic interactive rectangle - and the magic just happens right before your eyes.
